MSP Onions

MSP is an onion processing company in Nieuwdorp that has been a household name for years in the field of technology in combination with the sorting of onions. Together with the staff, the Moerdijk family ensures that onions are sorted and packed at a high level and flawlessly every day. The focus is mainly on yellow onions and they can process 800 to 1000 tons per day. To make this possible, the Moerdijk family works with the very latest techniques. Since the summer of 2023, MSP has included the latest product from Flikweert Vision: the Divider.

Challenge

The MSP location is state-of-the-art, only the latest techniques can be found here. “This results in stable quality and few human errors.” All machines must be able to communicate with each other and be controlled from a single point. Fortunately, the mechanics of Flikweert Vision quickly figured out how to read in the machine and it now runs perfectly in the Eqontrol control.

Short lines

First there was a test setup that already worked well, partly due to the short lines, our wishes in the software have been adjusted. You run into some teething problems with a new machine. “We saw that we needed a different setting for large objects such as branches; Flikweert Vision jumped right in and adjusted the program in such a way that the Divider acts correctly on these types of objects.” The easy contact and active attitude make cooperation much more pleasant. Not everything can be perfect in the beginning as long as you solve it right.
